Bitumen Tar is a viscous and durable hydrocarbon by-product used to formulate roads when laying new ones or repairing existing ones. It is the by-product of oil refining that adds adhesive properties giving resilience and durability to pavements under a wide range of weather conditions. Its dark color absorbs natural sunlight intensifying the rate of ice and snow melting. Bitumen Tar is commonly used because it prevents water retention and, therefore, does not allow moisture to depreciate roads.
